Woman, 51, Dies After Hitting Freeway Divider
A 51-year-old motorist was fatally injured Friday when her car smashed into the center divider of the San Diego Freeway, authorities said.
Valerie Giannotti of Fountain Valley was driving north near Beach Boulevard when her Volvo crashed about 9:30 a.m., California Highway Patrol and Orange County coroner’s officials said.
Giannotti was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where she was pronounced dead about three hours later, said Joseph Luckey, supervising deputy coroner. No details were available on the cause of the crash.
