Metrolink Train Kills Man Lying on Tracks
A North Hollywood man was killed when he lay down on a Metrolink track in San Fernando in front of an approaching train Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The man, believed to be in his 50s or 60s, left a suicide note, said San Fernando Police Lt. Dan Peavy. The incident occurred at 2:25 p.m. just north of Maclay Avenue at Truman Avenue.
None of the Santa Clarita-bound train’s 70 passengers was injured, said Metrolink spokeswoman Sharon Gavin. The train continued to the Sylmar/San Fernando station, where passengers transferred to buses.
