Jay Caliguiri of Cal State L.A., a junior third baseman from Camarillo High, hit home runs in four consecutive at-bats against Point Loma Nazarene on Monday in San Diego.
Caliguiri finished five for five with seven runs batted in.
He is the 13th player in NCAA Division II play to hit four homers in a game. His seven RBIs are one short of the school record set by Mike Pease in 1968. Caliguiri’s 17 total bases tie for third in Division II.
The Golden Eagles needed Caliguiri’s homers to defeat Point Loma Nazarene, 14-10.
