Two weeks ago, Pepperdine had a chance to take control of the West Coast Conference title race, but the Waves lost at home to Gonzaga.

Saturday that misstep caught up to them again.

Dan Dickau scored 23 points, including a key three-point basket with 4:13 remaining, as Gonzaga extended its winning streak to 14 games and clinched the WCC championship with an 82-69 victory over Pepperdine.

Dickau made five of eight three-pointers and had a game-high 11 assists for the Bulldogs, who are 20-5 overall, 12-0 in the WCC. Casey Calvary scored 14 points on five of seven field goals.

Brandon Armstrong led the Waves (18-7, 10-2) with 32 points on 11 of 30 field goals. He also had eight rebounds. Kelvin Gibbs scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Pepperdine, which lost only for the second time in 14 games and was the defending conference champion.

In the second half with the score 69-67 in favor of Gonzaga, Dickau made a three-pointer from five feet beyond the arc and the Bulldogs never looked back.

The Waves shot only 37.3% for the game (25 for 67) while Gonzaga shot 58.7% (27 for 46).
