Share

Fourth-seeded Ocean View, one of four Orange County boys’ basketball teams to lose a coin toss Wednesday, will face top-seeded Lakewood Mayfair in the semifinals of the Southern Section Division II-A playoffs Friday at Cerritos Gahr.

The game will be a rematch of last year’s semifinal, in which the Seahawks broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter for a 71-56 victory.

Ocean View (22-6) is trying to reach its third section championship game in four seasons. The Seahawks’ last title came in 1998, when they won the Division III-AA crown.
