Chapman Women Make NCAA Playoffs
The Chapman women’s basketball team received its first NCAA Division III playoff berth in four seasons Sunday when the NCAA announced pairings.
The Panther men’s team didn’t get a bid despite finishing 20-5, its best record in 17 seasons.
The Chapman women finished the regular season 17-8 and will play at Wartburg (23-4), the Iowa Conference champion, in the first round Wednesday.
In nonconference baseball:
Titans rained out--Rain forced the cancellation of a doubleheader between Cal State Fullerton and Arizona State Sunday at Fullerton.
Titan Coach George Horton said he expects to be able to reschedule the doubleheader later in the season.
Arizona State won the first game of the series, 5-3, Friday night before the game scheduled for Saturday was postponed due to rain.
The Titans (6-7) are scheduled to host UCLA at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
