Lee’s Threes Help Vanguard Top Cal Baptist

Sophomore guard Laura Lee scored 17 points, making five three-pointers, to help visiting Vanguard defeat Cal Baptist, 70-54, in a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Thursday.
Center Kelly Boeke, a Fountain Valley High graduate, had 12 points and Robbin Dittenbir had 12 points and 10 rebounds for Vanguard (8-3, 1-1 in conference).
Dawn Cason had 17 points for Cal Baptist (8-4, 1-1), which trailed by just two points at halftime.
In another conference game:
Concordia 78, Hope International 61--Alna Kohler scored 25 points, Jenny Hansen had 16 and Emma Covington and Layron O’Hara had 12 each for visiting Concordia, which shot 55% from the field.
Jamie Harrison, Cathy Ngo and Amanda Gilcrease each scored 14 points for Hope International, which shot 28%.
In Golden West Athletic Conference men’s basketball:
Cal Baptist 106, Vanguard 93--Dennis Keene had 28 points and Gabe Goldman 17 for visiting Vanguard (4-9, 0-2).
Hope International 78, Concordia 66--Axel Margaritha had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Jonathan Stoa had 16 points for Hope International.
Brad Da Grenier had 16 points for Concordia.
