Race Tracks Will Help Conserve Energy
Because of the state’s electricity shortage, Los Alamitos has moved tonight’s quarter horse program to the daytime, with first post at 12:35 p.m.
The California Horse Racing Board also has given Los Alamitos permission to race in the daytime Saturday and Sunday, if necessary. The racing board will review the situation next week before any other scheduling changes are made.
Santa Anita, which will now race today at the same time as the Los Alamitos track, cooperated with the scheduling change.
