PEOPLE: Dudley Moore Honored by Queen

Oscar-nominated comic actor Dudley Moore has been chosen to receive the title Commander of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II. “I am very grateful to receive this award and this recognition of my work,” Moore, 66, said in a statement. Moore, who starred in “10” and “Arthur,” suffers from a degenerative brain condition called progressive supranuclear palsy. But he still plans to attend the investiture ceremony this fall in England.

FILM: Cage Feted by Cinematheque

Nicolas Cage, who won the 1995 best actor Oscar for “Leaving Las Vegas,” will receive the 16th American Cinematheque Award at the organization’s annual benefit gala on Sept. 22, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Cage was the unanimous choice of the Cinematheque board of directors selection committee. “We are delighted to join with the American Cinematheque in saluting one of Hollywood’s most talented and versatile actors,” gala co-chairs Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Dolan and Gerry Harrington said in a statement. Samuel L. Jackson is set to host the tribute and award presentation, which will air Oct. 10th on TNT. Previous honorees include Eddie Murphy, Steven Spielberg and Bruce Willis.

TELEVISION: ‘Temptation’ Written in Fine Print

Producers of Fox’s “Temptation Island” will hold casting calls this week in Chicago, Philadelphia and Cleveland for the next edition of the series, to be shot at “a distant location” from early August to September. Still, given that the first season resulted in a lawsuit by contestants ousted during production because they had a child together, the announcement may be most notable for its disclaimer: “All potential participants must not be married and all applicants must not have or be expecting a child. All cast members must be willing to have their lives taped 24 hours per day, seven days a week, and feel comfortable appearing on national television in a bathing suit and similar attire.” Earlier auditions for couples and those who “tempt” them, were held in San Diego and Las Vegas.
