Aliso Niguel’s Wallace to Attend Minnesota

Erin Wallace, a shortstop on the Aliso Niguel softball team, has committed to Minnesota, Wolverine Coach Joe Miller said.
Wallace batted .404 with 23 runs scored and 22 steals last season.
Calvary Chapel’s Lindsey Dyer has committed to playing at Vanguard next season, a school official said.
Dyer, a catcher/infielder, was an All-Olympic League and All-Southern Section player last season.
* Cal State Fullerton sophomore softball players Jenny Topping and Jodie Cox were named Big West Conference player and pitcher of the week for the week ending March 4.
Cox pitched a perfect game against Minnesota last weekend in a 2-0 victory at the Worth Invitational. She finished the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record and a 0.37 ERA.
Topping hit .467 for the six games, with two home runs, seven RBI and scored six times. She had a slugging average of 1.067, a on-base percentage of .579 and had a double, triple and four walks.
HONORS
Christianne Bengard of Laguna Hills High and Eddie Cortemarche of Los Alamitos were among the 22 finalists for the CIF Spirit of Sports Award.
The award recognizes students who best reflect the values and principles of pursuing victory with honor.
Bengard is competed for four years in basketball and volleyball. Cortemarche was on the basketball team.
Jessica Savig of Stockton St. Mary’s High and Robert Landis of San Diego Francis Parker High were the winners. All finalists receive medals.
