A minor earthquake rattled the eastern Sierra Nevada Saturday.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage, the Inyo County Sheriff’s Department said.

The magnitude 3.2 temblor hit at 2:04 p.m., about 20 miles southwest of Coso Junction in a sparsely populated area flanked by the China Lake Naval Weapons Center and the Sequoia National Forest.

At least four smaller temblors--each no larger than magnitude 1.4--followed within an hour of the earthquake, according to preliminary reports from the U.S. Geological Survey in Pasadena.

The small community of Coso Junction has few residents, only one small convenience store and a geothermal plant.
