Girl Drowns in Family Pool
A 7-year-old Lake Forest girl drowned Tuesday in her family’s backyard swimming pool, authorities said.
The child, whose name was not released, apparently took an unsupervised swim in the pool of her home in the 29000 block of Canyon Vista shortly before 8 p.m., said Kirk Summers, a spokesman for the Orange County Fire Authority.
Family members found her floating face down in the water and called paramedics, who administered CPR, he said.
The girl was transported to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, where she was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m., Summers said.
The incident happened less than a week after the accidental drowning of an 18-year-old in Lake Mission Viejo.
“That’s way too many,” Summers said. “It’s too sad. It’s very hard.”
