Vilas, Noah Headline Opening Night

Guillermo Vilas, a four-time Grand Slam singles champion from Argentina, will open the Success Magazine Champions Tournament tonight at 7 against John Lloyd at the Newport Beach Tennis Club. Yannick Noah, former French Open champion, plays Scott Davis of Newport Beach immediately following the Vilas-Lloyd match.

Vilas replaced Mansour Bahrami, who withdrew with a back injury. On Thursday there are two sessions. At 1 p.m., Henri Leconte, another former French Open champion, plays Lloyd. Pat Cash, a former Wimbledon champion, faces Vilas immediately following the Leconte-Lloyd match. At 7 p.m., John McEnroe plays Davis. The Mats Wilander-Noah match will immediately follow.

On Friday, there are sessions at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. On Saturday, there is a session at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the round-robin tournament concludes with the singles final at 1 p.m., followed by the doubles final. Tickets are available for all sessions.
