2 Held, 1 Sought in Bungled Bank Holdup
Two suspected bank robbers were in custody Saturday with a third still at large after they attempted to hold up a Washington Mutual Bank in Valencia, authorities said.
Dishion Demetrious Phillips, 23, and Steven Amir White, 24, were booked on suspicion of bank robbery and assault, authorities said. The third person drove the getaway car.
The two men entered the bank shortly before 11 a.m. and knocked down the security guard, then jumped the counter and briefly escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Two suspects were caught after a brief foot chase.
