1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Weekend Plane Crashes

Two plane crashes in Southern California over the holiday weekend left one person dead and two people stranded with minor injuries for a day in the wilderness.
A plane crashed near Escondido before noon Monday, disintegrating on impact and killing the only person on board, authorities said.
Another plane crashed Sunday morning in the Agua Tibia Wilderness area southeast of Temecula, stranding two men for a day. A search party found the survivors and the plane’s wreckage Monday morning.
