Curtis Borchardt has spent most of the last two seasons sidelined by injuries and feeling as though he wasn’t making an impact for Stanford.

Against Purdue on Saturday night, he was the difference.

Borchardt had 13 points, 20 rebounds and six blocks as No. 14 Stanford defeated the Boilermakers, 78-62, Saturday in the John Wooden Tradition at Indianapolis.

“It’s been a long time I’ve been able to go out there and compete like that,” said Borchardt, who has missed 25 games the last two seasons because of assorted injuries. “I made sure not to give up on any ball. I just boxed out and just went for it.”
