Tourists Come to Aid of Stabbing Victim
About a dozen tourists rescued a woman being stabbed near Fisherman’s Wharf, police said.
Tourists jumped on Francois Givens of San Leandro Friday as he attacked an unidentified woman, police said. The tourists then chased the man, who was eventually caught and arrested.
The suspect and victim had apparently been dating and had broken up the night before the attack. Police said their two-year relationship was filled with domestic violence.
The victim underwent surgery for stab wounds to her neck, chest and arms. Givens was booked on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
