The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and CBS have set plans to jointly present the Emmy Awards in New York as well as Los Angeles, hoping to allow more nominees on the East Coast to participate in the ceremony.

The Oct. 7 telecast will present awards to New York-based nominees at the NBC studio where “Late Night With Conan O’Brien” is taped. The move marks yet another act of cooperation between the networks, given that the show will air on CBS, a unit of Viacom. NBC is owned by General Electric.

It’s estimated 120 nominees are based in New York.
