No. 1 Long Beach Poly 70, Fontana 0--Hershel Dennis rushed six times for 103 yards and four touchdowns for Poly (3-0) in a nonleague game at Fontana.
No. 11 Corona Centennial 42, Riverside North 18--Terry Richardson had five receptions for 88 yards and two touchdowns for host Centennial (3-0) in a nonleague game.
No. 13 Santa Margarita 41, Norco 22--Ashton White scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a scoring pass from quarterback Marshall Tharpe, who completed 16 of 23 passes for 212 yards at Saddleback College. Chase McWhorter ran for 116 yards in 10 carries and scored on touchdown runs of one and 65 yards for Santa Margarita (3-0-1). Norco drops to 2-1.
No. 25 Chino Hills Ayala 35, Chino Don Lugo 0--Justin Wolschief rushed for two touchdowns for host Ayala (1-1-1).
Downey 21, Lakewood 20--Downey’s defense stopped running back Jason Leggett’s attempt at a two-point conversion with less than three minutes remaining to preserve the victory. Stanley Franks scored on a three-yard run to give Downey the lead with five minutes left in the game.
