Boundaries May Seal Sign’s Fate

The Hollywood sign might stay in Los Angeles after all--even if voters approve a new city of Hollywood in November. But then again, it might not.
The Local Agency Formation Commission has asked its consultants to study several sets of boundaries for a proposed new city of Hollywood, some including the famous sign and some not.
The commission had delayed acting Tuesday on a recommendation by its staff to allow the sign to secede from Los Angeles along with the rest of Hollywood.
