Big Rig Collision Shuts Southbound I-5 Lanes
A freeway collision of two big rigs in Castaic on Tuesday sent one driver to a hospital with head injuries and shut down all southbound lanes for nearly an hour.
Traffic backed up for about two miles after the crash, which occurred at 4:11 p.m. on Interstate 5 just north of Templin Highway, officials said. The trucks jackknifed across all four lanes.
The unidentified driver of one 18-wheeler was ejected from his truck and airlifted to an area hospital. Information about his condition and the extent of his injuries was not available.
