Two vehicles collided at a busy intersection in Santa Ana on Friday, sending one through the plate-glass window of a check-cashing business and hitting a customer.

The driver of a Buick was making a left turn at the corner of 17th and North Spurgeon streets when it struck a westbound vehicle, according to Santa Ana Police Officer Mario Corona.

The Buick plowed through the window and landed about 10 feet into Ria Check Cashing. An unidentified woman was pinned to the counter, Corona said. The woman appeared to be “conscious, breathing and answering questions,” Corona said.

Both the woman and the driver of the Buick, who complained of chest pains, were taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. Their condition was unknown.

No one was arrested, and the accident is being investigated.
