Somis Woman Dies After Collision With Big Rig
A 22-year-old Somis woman was killed early Sunday when her car slammed into a big rig north of Camarillo, authorities said.
April Nattkemper was pronounced dead at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital shortly after the 6:30 a.m. accident.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Nattkemper lost control of her 2002 Ford Mustang convertible as she turned from California 34 onto California 118. The car collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Orlando Olmedo, 26, of Oxnard, the CHP said.
Olmedo was not injured.
The roadway was closed for several hours, and the CHP is continuing to investigate the accident.
