Mira Costa Coaches Resign After Dispute
Jim Beaumont, baseball coach at Manhattan Beach Mira Costa High for 14 years, resigned last week in a dispute with the administration, which wanted to demote an assistant junior varsity coach for using profanity last season.
“We did not want Mr. Beaumont to resign, but we were unable to come to a compromise,” Principal Lynn McCormack said.
Nine members of Mira Costa’s baseball staff joined Beaumont in resigning. Practice is scheduled to begin next week.
