MEN

San Diego (14-11, 6-6) at Pepperdine (18-7, 11-1), 7:30, Fox Sports Net, KPLS (830)--The Waves may have the disappointment of losing Saturday’s West Coast Conference showdown at Gonzaga, but they can still clinch a tie for the regular-season title with two victories this week. Pepperdine has won six of the last seven meetings with the Toreros, including a 96-91 double-overtime victory at San Diego on Jan. 26. Center Cedric Suitt had a school-record 10 blocked shots in that game. The Toreros are battling with San Francisco and Santa Clara for the No. 3 spot in the conference tournament next week.

Santa Clara (12-13, 7-5) at Loyola Marymount (9-17, 2-10), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9)--Loyola is trying to end a losing streak that reached nine games Saturday with an 83-79 overtime loss at Portland. Kent Dennis was a bright spot for the Lions, scoring 21 points. Santa Clara is trying to secure third place in the West Coast Conference. The Broncos are coming off victories against San Francisco and St. Mary’s. Steve Ross is averaging 15.8 points a game for Santa Clara.

No. 2 Stanford (26-1, 16-0) at USC (14-11, 10-6), 7, KMPC (1540)--Fourth place may be the Trojans’ Pacific 10 fate. They could finish in a tie for second with Arizona State if they win today and Sunday against California, and Washington and Arizona State lose their final games. But Arizona State holds the tiebreaker over USC, meaning the Sun Devils would be seeded second and the Trojans third in the Pac-10 tournament. And if the Trojans don’t win at all this weekend, they could end up tied for sixth.

California (7-18, 2-14) at UCLA (7-18, 3-13), 7, KACD (850), KEWS (1350)--This may be the final week of conference play, but it appears the eighth-place Bruins and ninth-place Bears have a first-round date in the Pac-10 tournament next week.
