Anderson Keeps Celtic Streak Going

Kenny Anderson scored all of his season-high 19 points in the first half and the Boston Celtics won their seventh consecutive home game, 110-94, over the Orlando Magic Wednesday night.

Antoine Walker had 30 points and nine assists, Paul Pierce had 24 points and eight rebounds and Vitaly Potapenko had 10 points and nine rebounds.

Pat Garrity scored 19 points for the Magic.

Minnesota 95, Milwaukee 77--Kevin Garnett had 22 points and 19 rebounds and Anthony Peeler added 18 points for the Timberwolves at Minneapolis.

Garnett scored 13 of his points in the third quarter as the Timberwolves broke away after holding a one-point halftime lead.

New Jersey 92, Memphis 74--Jason Kidd had 14 assists in 26 minutes and the Nets held Memphis to a season-low seven points in the second quarter at East Rutherford, N.J.

Aaron Williams scored a season-high 20 points for the Eastern Conference leaders, who won for the fourth time in five games.

Shane Battier had 20 points for the Grizzlies.

Cleveland 113, Golden State 98--Lamond Murray, playing for the first time since straining his lower back Dec. 22, scored a career-high 40 points for the Cavaliers at Cleveland.

Wesley Person scored 18 points, and Andre Miller had 12 points and 14 assists for Cleveland.

Antawn Jamison scored 24 points for Golden State.

San Antonio 97, Detroit 85--Tim Duncan scored 20 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for host San Antonio.

Steve Smith added 15 points, Malik Rose 13 and David Robinson 12.

Detroit, which has lost eight of nine, was led by Zeljko Rebraca with 17 points.

Dallas 107, Chicago 97--Steve Nash had 24 points and 11 assists at Chicago, leading the Mavericks to their 10th consecutive victory.

Reserve Eduardo Najera added 15 points for the Mavericks.

The Bulls’ Ron Artest tied his career-high with 29 points before fouling out.

Philadelphia 102, Phoenix 81--Allen Iverson scored 29 points for Philadelphia at Phoenix.

Dikembe Mutombo scored 18, Aaron McKie 16 and Matt Harpring 15 for the 76ers.

Before the game, 76er Coach Larry Brown said there was no truth to a Philadelphia television station’s report that he was considering resigning by the time the team’s trip ends Saturday at Portland.

Toronto 95, Portland 84--Vince Carter scored 28 points at Portland and the Raptors handed the Trail Blazers their sixth consecutive loss.

Rasheed Wallace had 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead Portland, which fell five games below .500 for the first time since late in the 1988-89 season. Its last six-game losing streak was in December 1995.
