Tee Martin completed 11 of 18 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns and Peerless Price caught four passes for 199 yards and a touchdown as Volunteers won their first title in 47 years.
2000 SUGAR BOWL
Florida State 46, Virginia Tech 29
The Seminoles capped a 12-0 season by scoring 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Most valuable player Peter Warrick had six receptions for 163 yards and returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown.
2001 ORANGE BOWL
Oklahoma 13, Florida State 2
Most valuable player Torrence Marshall had six tackles and an interception as the Sooners won their seventh national championship. The Sooner defense held the Seminole offense to 301 total yards.
