Toronto Raptor forward Morris Peterson will miss six to eight weeks with a fractured right index finger.

To make room for Peterson on the injured list, the Raptors on Friday activated center Mamadou N’diaye, who had been on the list since Oct. 29.

Peterson was hurt in the third quarter of Wednesday’s game in Portland. He was out of the lineup for the first time all season when the Raptors played Cleveland on Friday night.

The Raptors said Peterson will not need surgery on the finger but will wear a splint during his rehabilitation. He has averaged 12.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists this season.

Calvin Booth, who was supposed to be the Seattle SuperSonics’ starting center after signing a $34-million, six-year contract as a free agent, will be out another month because of a painful sprained right ankle that has developed tendinitis.

“We’re looking at four more weeks,” Coach Nate McMillan said before Friday night’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Booth, who has been on the injured list since Dec. 12, had his right ankle placed in a protective boot on Thursday.

The 6-foot-11, 231-pound Booth, 25, played in 15 of Seattle’s first 31 games, averaging 18.6 minutes, 6.2 points and 3.6 rebounds. He scored a career-best 24 points against Dallas Nov. 20.

He sprained his ankle in practice the day before the Sonics’ regular season opener Oct. 30 and has been hurting since.

The Cleveland Cavaliers activated guard Jeff Trepagnier, a former USC standout, from the injured list and put guard Trajan Langdon on the injured list with a sprained right ankle.

Trepagnier, the Cavaliers’ second-round pick in this year’s draft, has missed the last 14 games with tendinitis in his right knee. He has played in six games this season, averaging 1.7 points in 4.7 minutes.

Langdon has played in 16 games this season, averaging 2.6 points. He was in uniform for the Cavs’ game Friday night in Toronto.
