Marcus Barnes, whose three-point basket helped send the game into overtime, hit a key three-pointer in the second overtime and No. 24-ranked Miami defeated Pittsburgh, 76-69, in a Big East men’s basketball game Tuesday night at Miami.

John Salmons had 25 points for the Hurricanes (16-2, 3-2 Big East).

Ontario Lett scored a career-high 18 points for Pittsburgh (15-3, 3-2).

No. 4 Kansas 79, No. 6 Oklahoma State 61--Drew Gooden had 17 points and Kirk Hinrich scored 15 for the Jayhawks (14-2, 3-0 Big 12) at Stillwater, Okla.

Fredrik Jonzen had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Cowboys (15-2, 2-2).

No. 10 Virginia 86, No. 14 Wake Forest 74--Travis Watson had 20 points and 17 rebounds, and Roger Mason Jr. scored 25 points for the Cavaliers (11-2, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) at Charlottesville, Va.

Josh Howard had 19 points for the Demon Deacons (13-4, 3-1).

No. 11 Illinois 77, No. 17 Iowa 66--Brian Cook had 21 points and Frank Williams flirted with a triple-double--16 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals--for the Illini (14-4, 3-2 Big Ten) at Champaign, Ill.

Luke Recker scored 16 points for the Hawkeyes (13-6, 2-3).

No. 12 Kentucky 87, Mississippi 64--Tayshaun Prince scored 19 points and Marquis Estill had 15 for the Wildcats (11-4, 2-2 Southeastern Conference) at Lexington, Ky.

Gerald Fitch had 13 points and 11 rebounds for Kentucky.

David Sanders scored 17 points for the Rebels (13-4, 2-2).

No. 23 Oregon 71, Willamette 48--Frederick Jones scored 19 points and Luke Ridnour had 14 for the Ducks (13-4) at Eugene, Ore.

The game marked the 75th anniversary of the opening of McArthur Court.

B.J. Dobrkovsky led Division III Willamette (11-5) with 13 points.

No. 14 Iowa State 82, No. 3 Oklahoma 66--Angie Welle scored 28 points at Ames, Iowa, and Iowa State (14-3, 2-3) ended Oklahoma’s 18-game Big 12 Conference winning streak.

Tracy Gahan had 25 points and Lindsey Wilson had 16 for Iowa State. LaNeishea Caufield led Oklahoma (14-2, 4-1) with 24 points.

No. 1 Connecticut 85, Georgetown 41--Swin Cash had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Connecticut (19-0, 5-0 Big East) at Washington.

Mary Lisicky had 12 points for Georgetown (9-7, 1-4).

No. 25 Boston College 69, Providence 49--Brianne Stepherson scored 18 points at Boston, and the Eagles (13-3, 4-1 Big East) used two big runs to win for the 10th time in 11 games.
