Long Beach State (6-12, 2-5) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (9-6, 3-4), 5:30, KRLA (870), Fox Sports Net 2--Long Beach defeated Pacific, 78-74, on Saturday for only its third victory in its last 13 games. Long Beach forward Travis Reed had 19 points and 11 rebounds against Pacific for his sixth double-double of the season. Reed and the 49ers will need the confidence playing Cal Poly, which has not won in two weeks but is 6-1 at home.

UC Irvine (13-5, 6-1) at UC Santa Barbara (11-5, 5-2), 7, KUCI-FM (88.9)--First place in the Big West Conference is at stake. Irvine leads Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge by a game after having its 19-game home winning streak end Saturday in a 73-72 overtime loss to Northridge. Anteater guard Jerry Green leads the Big West in scoring with a 21.5 average. Santa Barbara forward Adama Ndiaye had a career-best 31 points and 13 rebounds Saturday in a 74-67 victory against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Gaucho guard Branduinn Fullove is questionable because of a bruised thigh. Irvine has won the last three meetings.

Cal State Fullerton (4-12, 1-6) at Cal State Northridge (6-10, 5-2), 7, KWRM (1370)--The Matadors have won three of their last four, the last a 73-72 overtime upset at Irvine. Guard Markus Carr broke out of his shooting slump with 22 and 31 points in his last two games. Fullerton is coming off the most impressive victory in Donny Daniels’ 11/2-year tenure as coach, a victory against Utah State last Saturday.

UC Riverside (6-9, 3-4) at Pacific (11-6, 3-4), 7, KPRO (1570)--Riverside is looking to regroup after a tough week at home. The Highlanders lost to Utah State before a packed house last Thursday and then were beaten at the buzzer by Idaho, 60-58, on Saturday. Sophomore center Vili Morton will be tested by an experienced Pacific team that also lost twice last week at UC Irvine and Long Beach.

Pepperdine (11-6, 4-0) at Santa Clara (7-10, 2-2), 7:30, KPLS (830)--The Waves are sitting on top of the West Coast Conference, thanks to their sweep of Gonzaga and Portland last weekend. Pepperdine has won all five games since the return of forward Glen McGowan and six in a row overall. McGowan is averaging 12.2 points and 5.4 rebounds off the bench. The Broncos have rebounded well from a 1-8 start. Forward Steve Ross comes off the bench but leads the Broncos in scoring at 16.1 a game.

Loyola Marymount (9-9, 2-2) at San Diego (10-7, 2-2), 7, KXLU-FM (88.9)--Loyola was burned for 34 first-half points by Gonzaga guard Dan Dickau in a 94-60 West Coast Conference loss on Saturday. San Diego is coming off an 86-77 loss to Santa Clara at home.

WOMEN

USC (10-8, 6-4) at Oregon (10-8, 5-4), 7--The Ducks lost at home to rival Oregon State last week for the first time in nine seasons. Oregon guard Shaquala Williams (16.7) is fourth among Pac-10 scorers. Above her is USC’s Aisha Hollans (18.2).

UCLA (5-12, 2-6) at Oregon State (10-9, 6-3), 7, KACD (850), KEWS (1350)--The Bruins will try again to slow down Oregon State guard Felicia Ragland, the conference’s leading scorer (20.5). Ragland scored 32 against the Bruins in the Beavers’ 79-65 victory on Dec. 22.
