Own Goal Gives Carolina Winning Margin

An own goal by Angela Hucles gave the Carolina Courage a 2-1 victory over the Boston Breakers in a Women’s United Soccer Assn. game Saturday in front of 6,281 at Cary, N.C.
The decisive goal came in the 66th minute off a free kick from Unni Lehn, who fired from just outside the penalty area. The ball hit Hucles in the shin and went past goalkeeper Traci Ducar.
Birgit Prinz tied a WUSA record by scoring in her fifth consecutive game, heading in a ball in the 57th minute for Carolina (10-2-3).
Kristine Lilly scored in the 59th minute for Boston (4-7-5).
Atlanta 4, New York 1--Sun Wen scored in the 36th minute and Nikki Serlenga’s penalty-kick goal in the 54th minute broke a 1-1 tie for the Beat (7-7-1) in front of 5,128 at Uniondale, N.Y.
