What About That Probe Into Illegal Grading?

Share

Re “A View From Above Aids Battle Below,” May 13:

A couple of weeks ago you reported that Supervisor Todd Spitzer was so upset by the illegal grading at the Joplin site that he had asked Orange County Chief Executive Michael Schumacher to investigate. Schumacher, of course, is the former chief probation officer, the very one who applied for the state grant to build the adjacent Rancho Potrero Leadership Academy in the first place and the former head of the Probation Department that was responsible for ordering the illegal grading.

Maybe it is time to ask publicly how the investigation is going. While we are at it, we could request President Bush to ask Dick Cheney to conduct an independent investigation into what the White House knew regarding warnings about imminent attacks from Al Qaeda, and perhaps even ask Kenneth Lay about the contributions of Enron into the government’s energy policies.
