Running Bac Appears Formidable

Share

If Running Bac runs tonight as she did May 24, the field in the $15,000 Deelish Handicap is chasing second money.

A 4-year-old mare bred in Utah, Running Bac won the Blushing By Handicap by 1 3/4 lengths in her first start of the year. It was her seventh win in 13 lifetime starts and she should be hard to handle from the rail again this evening.

Owned by Francisco Diaz and trained by Juan Aleman, the daughter of Splash Bac will be ridden by Ramon Sanchez in the 350-yard Deelish, named in honor of the champion aged mare of 2000.

The only other participant in the field of six fresh off a victory is Charmed Mongoose Bug.

Rounding out the lineup are Imjumpn, a winner of four of 12 for co-owner and trainer Blane Schvaneveldt; Naughty Corona; WCR Rubys Diamond, who has been idle since last Oct. 20, and Lone Star Park shipper Stylish Sign.

The picks: 1. Brisco Lamb. 2. Jake Blues. 3. Justa Dance. 4. Lovely Gay Shook. 5. Murr Key Blurr. 6. Ole’s Shadow. 7. Priscillas New Doc. 8. Heza Class Man. 9. Running Bac. 10. First A Princess.

Four! Use Priscillas New Doc, Ribalta, Beauty Goes First and JD Pesky in the seventh, Heza Class Man and Little Like Magic in the eighth, single Running Bac in the ninth and use Lender, Farahon, Swift Intruder and First A Princess in the 10th.

Shots in the dark: Neva Paranoide drops in class in the sixth as he makes his first start in nearly 13 months for trainer Juan Cervantes. Swift Intruder could improve second time out for trainer Connie Hall as he adds Lasix in the 10th.
