Trainers Hall, Bassett Have Their Hands Full

Paints and appaloosas are in the spotlight tonight with stakes for 2- and 3-year-olds.

Trainers Connie Hall and John Bassett have the ones to beat in the $26,800 Starburst Derby at 350 yards and both have contenders as well in the $48,300 Starburst Futurity for 2-year-olds.

Bassett has four runners in the derby, among them Judys Cash, who has won three in a row and 10 of 18. His others are Gingers Beauty, Texas Wildcat and Dakota Jackson.

In the Futurity, Hall will send out Cha Cha Chickie and King Lear.

Bassett has three shots in the race -- Corona Cash, Wendy Dash and Treasures Bubba.
