A knee injury will sideline Arizona receiver David Boston, who led the NFL in yards receiving last season, for the rest of the year.

The Cardinals said Tuesday that orthopedist James Montgomery would repair a partial tendon tear in Boston’s right knee Nov. 20.

Boston, 24, set franchise records for yards receiving (1,598) and receptions (98) last season. He has a team-high 32 catches for 512 yards and one touchdown this year.

The New York Giants agreed to contract terms with receiver Herman Moore.

Moore, 33, the Detroit Lions’ all-time leading receiver, would be paid $308,824 to finish the season, based on a $750,000 salary.

Moore hasn’t played since being put on injured reserve by the Lions early last season because of a hip injury.

The Giants are desperate for receivers after losing Ike Hilliard (shoulder) and Tim Carter (Achilles’ tendon) with season-ending injuries in the last three weeks. Ron Dixon, Hilliard’s replacement, sprained a knee Sunday and is expected to sit out two weeks.

Receiver Jacquez Green was waived by the Washington Redskins.

The Redskins promoted receiver Justin Skaggs from the practice squad.

Green, one of five former Florida players on ex-Gator coach Steve Spurrier’s roster, signed a three-year, $4.3-million contract in March as a free agent from Tampa Bay. But he had only five catches for 94 yards through 10 games.

He was one of several players who openly questioned Spurrier’s constant shuffling of receivers earlier this season.

Irsay, 43, issued a statement in response to a report by Indianapolis television station WTHR, which said Irsay has a history of substance abuse that includes at least three overdoses of prescription drugs and treatment at clinics in Indiana and Arizona.

“I have successfully dealt with my dependence and my chronic pain issues,” he said.

The station reported that Irsay was being investigated by federal and local authorities for prescription drug fraud, but Colt general counsel Dan Luther said the team didn’t know of any investigation.
