From Staff Reports

Michael Haddan of Irvine Woodbridge, Mohamed Trafeh of Duarte, Liza Pasciuto of Murrieta Valley and Alison Costello of Anaheim Esperanza head the list of entries in the Southern Section cross-country preliminaries on Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.

Erick Maldonado of Chino Don Lugo, the defending state Division I champion, is also expected to run. He hasn’t raced since mid-October after developing soreness in his lower left leg, but X-rays of the area taken Tuesday did not reveal a stress fracture.

The preliminaries start at 7:56 a.m. with a Division V boys’ race. The last race, a Division II girls’ heat, is scheduled to begin at 3:44 p.m.
