Thanks to upsets by, among others, Genie Magic and the promising rookie Ghostzapper, pick-six players will have a juicy $114,086 carry-over to shoot for this afternoon at Hollywood Park.

The sequence begins with the fourth race, a $12,500 claimer for older fillies and mares, then continues with a 2-year-old maiden turfer, a $40,000 claiming sprint for 2-year-old fillies, a 2-year-old allowance race, another turf affair for older fillies and mares, before concluding with a $12,500 claimer for 3-year-olds.

Some players may elect to open their ticket with a single. Prime Step, the 8-5 choice on Russ Hudak’s morning line, is the one to catch as she makes her first start for trainer Jack Carava.

The Prospectors Gamble filly won her last start at Santa Anita by 6 1/2 lengths.

The seventh looks like a match race between Our Bobby V. and Truckle Feature. A gray son of Majesterian, Our Bobby V. beat maidens by five lengths in his second start at Santa Anita on Oct. 6 while Truckle Feature drops out of two graded stakes as he returns to California for trainer Bob Baffert.

The Saint Ballado colt, who broke his maiden at Del Mar, was third in the Futurity at Belmont Park and third in the Lanes End Breeders’ Futurity at Keeneland in his two most recent appearances.

Meanwhile, at Golden Gate Fields, Bluesthestandard will make his first start in Northern California against eight opponents in the seventh, a $33,000 allowance at six furlongs.

A winner of eight of 14 in his career, the 5-year-old American Standard gelding will be favored under jockey Russell Baze.

Race of the day: Nine 2-year-olds who have combined to win 14 of 28 starts will get together in the $75,000 Huntington at Aqueduct.

Who’s hot: Carl Nafzger. The trainer, best known for winning the Kentucky Derby with Unbridled more than a decade ago, won with 10 of his first 20 starters at Churchill Downs.
