Spots for Champion of Champions on Line

When the two $20,000 Z. Wayne Griffin Directors Trials are history tonight, the final three participants in next month’s $500,000 Champion of Champions will be known.

Thirteen horses will compete for the three openings in the Champion of Champions, which already includes Corona Kool, A Ransom, Streakin Sin Tacha, Whosleavingwho, Miami Cartel, Bugs By Yawl and Genuine Strawfly.

The fastest qualifiers will move on to the Grade I on Dec. 14. Tonight’s first 400-yard trial includes Dinastia Toll, Running Bac and Chiarascuro. The second features Jess Louisiana Blue, A Secret Account and Runahalf.

A 4-year-old son of Mr Jess Perry, Jess Louisiana Blue ships to Los Alamitos from Texas after finishing second to Streakin Sin Tacha in the Challenge Championship at Lone Star Park on Nov. 2.

Four! Use Ripped Fuel, Breaking Up and Slinker in the first; single Musical Lady in the second, use Im A Pritzi Boy, Scuba Steve and Love It Hot in the third, and Brite Future, Tough Hagerdorn and Deal Done in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: Seranoide could make amends in the sixth after failing as the favorite on Nov. 2. Chiarascuro could rebound in the eighth.
