If you’re going to see the colors and want updated information, here are some resources. The Forest Service maintains a fall color hotline, (800) 354-4595, that breaks down the color report by region. Its Web site, www.fs.fed.us/news/fallcolors, also is helpful. (Try www.foliagenet work.com/index.shtml as well.) Some states maintain foliage hotlines or have telephone representatives who can update you on the colors. Here’s a sampling of information available by phone and/or on the Web, culled from a variety of sources. (If you don’t see a state’s phone number, try the Forest Service number.)
