Yosemite Is Worth the Price of Admission

Re “Park Attendance Drops for 6th Straight Year,” Sept. 17: This past summer my husband and I spent five wonderful days exploring Yosemite National Park. It was my first time in this wondrous and beautiful place. We were not only impressed by the awesome scope of Yosemite but also the concentrated effort underway by park employees to restore the park to its original natural state. Re-landscaping, planting and monitoring the water were all activities we observed when we were there.
We did see a distinct lack of park rangers, and this we were told was because of budget problems. An entrance fee of $20 is more than justified and, in my opinion, not enough to preserve this special site. Make the drive to Yosemite, see it for yourself and share it with your children. For $20 you get nature at its most breathtaking.
