Irvine’s run of seven consecutive victories at the CIF Relays ended Saturday. BOYS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Compton Dominguez appears to be closing the gap on top-ranked Long Beach Poly as the Dons’ Lionel Larry ran the fastest times in the state this year in winning the 100 meters in 10.64 seconds and the 200 in 21.10 in the Pasadena Games on Saturday. Woodland Hills Taft dropped from the top 10 because sprint standout Noah Smith is expected to be out for several more weeks while recovering from a stress fracture in his left foot.

GIRLS’ TRACK AND FIELD

Wilson also had a big day Saturday as MacKenzie Hill posted state-leading marks of 14.03 seconds in the 100 high hurdles and 42.67 in the 300 lows.
