Donovan’s Goals Lead Earthquakes

Landon Donovan had two goals and an assist as the San Jose Earthquakes defeated the Dallas Burn, 3-0, Wednesday night in front of 5,515 at Southlake, Texas.

Donovan scored his first goal in the 23rd minute, a one-timer from outside the right corner of the penalty box into the left corner for a 2-0 lead. He scored in the 44th minute into an open net from just outside the goalie’s box.

Kansas City 0, MetroStars 0 -- Two players were treated for heat exhaustion and taken off the field on stretchers in front of 10,737 at East Rutherford, N.J. Wizard defender Jimmy Conrad was treated for dehydration and an irregular heartbeat in the locker room. MetroStar defender Edgar Bartholomeu also needed assistance as field temperatures reached 118 degrees.

Columbus 2, Chicago 2 -- Damani Ralph scored in the 90th minute to give Chicago the tie in front of 17,193 at Columbus, Ohio. His shot was from just inside the goalie’s box.

D.C. United 1, Colorado 0 -- In front of 10,556 at Washington, Eliseo Quintanilla scored the first goal against the Rapids in more than four games.
