Shock Has Best Record
Kedra Holland-Corn scored 19 points, all in the second half and overtime, as the Detroit Shock beat the Minnesota Lynx, 86-77, in front of 12,747 fans at Minneapolis on Saturday night to clinch the WNBA’s best record.
The Shock (24-9) is the first team in any major sport since 1890 to finish with the best regular-season record the year after finishing with the worst.
Indiana 59, Cleveland 46 -- Natalie Williams had 15 points and 11 rebounds, the 61st double-double of her five-year WNBA career, and the Fever won in front of 13,093 fans at Indianapolis.
Indiana, Cleveland and New York, at 16-17, are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot in the East.
Connecticut 74, Washington 67 -- Katie Douglas scored 28 points as the Sun (17-16) took over sole possession of third place in the East with a win in front of 14,853 at Washington.
Sacramento 61, Phoenix 54 -- Yolanda Griffith had 15 points and the Monarchs (19-14) won before 15,782 at Sacramento.
Seattle 71, Houston 64 -- Lauren Jackson converted a three-point play with 1:26 remaining for the Storm (17-16) in front of 7,786 at Seattle.
