Nevada Las Vegas Rallies to Defeat Toledo, 28-18
Kurt Nantkes threw two fourth-quarter touchdown passes to Greg Estandia within 30 seconds of each other Friday night to rally Nevada Las Vegas to a 28-18 victory over Toledo.
With 5:52 left, Nantkes threw a fourth-down touchdown pass to Estandia to give the Rebels a 21-18 lead. After the Rockets fumbled on their next play from scrimmage, the two hooked up again.
Nantkes found the tight end from 22 yards out down the right sideline to secure the victory.
Nantkes finished 27 of 41 for 308 yards, with three touchdowns and an interception. Estandia caught four passes for 75 yards.
The Rockets opened the scoring on their first drive when Bruce Gradkowski found tight end Andrew Clarke for a 12-yard touchdown pass. In the third quarter, Toledo took an 18-14 lead on Paul Dye’s 80-yard fumble return.
