Person Sought After Flare Fired at Helicopter

Police are seeking a person believed to have started a fire with a flare gun before firing it at a police helicopter dispatched to put out the flames.
The incident occurred Friday after the Huntington Beach Police Department helicopter was summoned to help Newport Beach firefighters douse a brush fire. As the helicopter hovered, police said, a flare-gun rocket missed it by 100 feet.
