Of the first five races on the eight-race program tonight, two are trials for the upcoming Masterpiece Derby for 3-year-olds and three are for the Masterpiece Futurity for 2-year-olds.

In the first 350-yard trial, Cha Cha Chickie, who won the Futurity last year en route to being the world champion, will be seeking her 10th win in 13 starts for owner Robin Moraga and trainer Connie Hall. A California-bred, Cha Cha Chickie won seven of eight as a 2-year-old and has been first or second in all four of her races in 2003.

Hall, in fact, will have starters in all five races. Besides Cha Cha Chickie in the first, she also will run Sheza Fast Chick in the opener, King Lear and Treasured Form in the second, Im Chic in the third, A Rare Jo in the fourth and Reckless Judy in the fifth.
