Ab What A Runner, the 2-1 morning-line favorite, will try to make a prestigious short list tonight in the $500,000 Champion of Champions.

Ab What A Runner, a 3-year-old gray filly owned by Dennie and Kris Hill and trained by Bret Vickery, will be trying to become the third horse to win both the All American Futurity and Champion of Champions.

Easy Date, a filly who won the All American in 1974 and the Champion of Champions the next year, and Refrigerator, who won the All American in 1990 and followed with three victories in the Champion of Champions, are the only other horses to win both races.
