That Golf Can Take a Lot Out of a Guy

I was happy to read Thomas Bonk’s column about the brutal schedules of these guys on the PGA Tour -- condemned by a cruel fate to make their living playing golf. Somehow I had the simple-minded notion that Couples, Davis Love, Mark O’Meara, et al., were just the usual bunch of spoiled, over-indulged multi-zillionaires whose every need was tended to at once by a small army of caddies, nannies, personal assistants, corporate sponsors, golf equipment reps, etc. But now the true story reveals itself: It’s hell out there!
