Illinois Rallies Late

Illinois surrendered a 21-point lead before rallying in the last minute, regaining the edge on James Augustine’s layup with 58 seconds left to defeat Missouri, 71-70, Tuesday night at St. Louis.

Dee Brown led No. 21 Illinois (7-2) with 18 points and six assists. Augustine had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Travon Bryant had a career-high 19 points, as did Rickey Paulding, for No. 11 Missouri (4-2), which lost for the second time in three games. Bryant also matched a career high with 12 rebounds and blocked two shots.

No. 2 Kentucky 101, Eastern Kentucky 72 -- Gerald Fitch scored 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting, and Erik Daniels had 15 points, seven rebounds and a career-high eight assists to lead the Wildcats (7-0) over the Colonels (3-5) at Lexington, Ky.

No. 4 Georgia Tech 90, Marist 40 -- The unbeaten Yellow Jackets (11-0) matched the best start in school history as Isma’il Muhammad scored 16 points for the victory over the Red Foxes (1-8) at Atlanta.

No. 14 Cincinnati 82, No. 23 Dayton 53 -- Jason Maxiell scored 19 points, and the undefeated Bearcats (7-0) forced 28 turnovers at Cincinnati in handing the Flyers (9-1) their first loss.

No. 20 Louisville 107, Virginia Military Institute 56 -- Taquan Dean scored a career-high 31 on nine three-point baskets to lead the Cardinals (6-1) over the Keydets (2-7) at Louisville, Ky.

No. 24 Maryland 85, North Carolina Greensboro 58 -- Nik Caner-Medley scored 19 points, to lead the Terrapins (7-2) over the Spartans (4-6) at College Park, Md.

No. 22 DePaul 101, Loyola Chicago 63 -- Khara Smith scored 24 points to lead the Blue Demons (11-1) over the Ramblers (4-6) at Chicago.
