Mike Moreno, Hacienda Heights Wilson: Had 51 points, including 44 in the second half, 13 rebounds and five steals in a 76-70 Miramonte League victory against Pomona Garey.

Dawin Whiten, Sepulveda Monroe: Scored 26 points and made a three-point shot with 1.9 seconds left in a 52-49 Valley Mission League victory over Granada Hills Kennedy.

Sean Phaler, Villa Park: Had 17 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots in a 51-41 Century League upset of Brea Olinda, the No. 8-ranked team in the Southland by The Times.

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Eshaya Murphy, Van Nuys Montclair Prep: Had 34 points and 20 rebounds in an 63-47 Olympic League victory over Downey Calvary Chapel.

BOYS’ SOCCER

Jordan Kaplan and Joey Cascio, Villa Park: They each scored a goal in a 2-1 Century League victory against previously unbeaten and No. 9-ranked Brea Olinda. Cascio’s goal broke a 1-1 tie midway through the second half.
